I wonder how it wound up back in a Munich flea market!

I googled "Matador" and got a company that makes tools completely unrelated to what I was looking at. To me if I cannot restore a tool into working order, I'm not interested. They have to earn their keep in my tool chest. I only do what is necessary, not trying to make them looking like new.
Cheers
BobValley Woodworkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07322487171914484954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5591297260116621731.post-15759908539848450572015-04-28T16:47:40.791+02:002015-04-28T16:47:40.791+02:00About that Ulmia "Matador" chisel. I have an Axe stamped Casco, which was made in W Germany by Helko. The only problem is it often leaves a gray finish on items if there is nothing else on them to protect them. The scissors came out of the bath with a pretty rough texture on the handles. Other than that, I find it a pretty low-impact method.Brian Evehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04252174035715635674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5591297260116621731.post-14950104556331161052015-04-27T14:27:27.994+02:002015-04-27T14:27:27.994+02:00Hi Brian,

...Hi Brian,
nice findings. I like the countersinks.
It seems that citric acid is working pretty well against the rust.
How are your experiences with it? I have used it in the past to remove zinc from hinges to give them a pure and old look.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17569365598390231433noreply@blogger.com
